Friday Four: 4 Things I Like About Internet Explorer

I’m in the middle of coding the XHTML and CSS for The Chapel’s new website, launching this fall.

I’m really stoked about using a handful of CSS3 properties to “progressively enhance” my design.

Progressive enhancement will need to be used because IE users make up 66% of total visitors to the Chapel’s current website:

  • 7.0 = 61%
  • 8.0 = 20%
  • 6.0 = 19%

Through my experience this week, I now feel comfortable with presenting the top four things I like about IE6, 7, and 8.

Sometimes you wonder if the guys at Microsoft understand that they have almost single-handedly given the open source movement critical mass? If they would quit screwing with the standards there would be no need for Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

    :D Good post, good humour.

Why did you stop at four? There are tons similarly valid reasons to LOVE IE :)
