God isn't bland. The Church shouldn't be, either.
The Persingers Are Moving!

After living in Chicagoland for the past two and a half years, we’re  moving back to Nashville, TN effective Nov. 22.

Katie and I (and the kids) have really enjoyed our time here, but we have a desire to move back down south to be closer to family, especially since our third child is due in March (found out right after we made the decision). In addition, and perhaps more importantly, our house in Nashville hasn’t sold since we left. This has been tough. The market is bad, and there’s no end in site as it competes with short-sales and foreclosures.

After a lot [TONS] of prayer and counsel, we have a great peace that we’re doing the right thing.

What are we going to do?

It’s funny, this is the first time we’ve ever made a move without a new job in mind, but God is taking care of us.

The Chapel
I am continuing to serve The Chapel’s external communications, web, and community engagement efforts remotely. I cannot say enough about how appreciative I am The Chapel wants to continue this relationship. That is truly an exclamation mark on the generosity this church and its leadership has extended to my family.

There are a handful of churches, ministries, and organizations that Katie and I will be serving through all facets of communication, marketing, and community outreach. In addition, we’re looking at testing the waters with MediaBLEEP Consulting including Eric and Lauren Murrell. Interested?

Creative Missions
This one doesn’t pay the bills, but sure does have my attention. We are moving full-speed ahead on this idea – have visited the target area, and working on a list of needs and “plan of attack.” May 2011 is the target date for the trip, and we will recruit in January. Stay tuned for more information on MediaBLEEP. For now, check out Creative Missions 1 AND Creative Missions 2.

Where will we eventually land?

Our house will remain on the market after we move back until it sells.

Ultimately, we’ll land wherever God wants us to be, but we’d love to move to the Atlanta or Charlotte area.

Please pray for us.

We’re taking this time of transition to pray through next steps and open doors, and ask you guys to pray for us, too. More specifically…

  • That our house sells quickly
  • God opens and shuts doors, and reveals next steps
  • I’m praying God will bring a spiritual and leadership mentor into my life.

Cleve, that great that you can follow the Lord direction. I will certainly keep you in my prayers and seek some consulting work for you. Next time you are back in NC lets grab coffee or something.

Absolutely, Jon! I’ll be around those parts this Christmas. Let’s talk.
