God isn't bland. The Church shouldn't be, either.
Friday Four: Privacy Policies

Have you ever given much thought to the dreaded privacy policy of your website?

Realistically, who reads the privacy policy page anyways? They tend to be long, boring, and usually has some encrypted legal jargon that no one completely understands. However, the privacy policy should not be put off and forgotten about because there is some valuable information within this page to your website.

ETrust.org explains that a privacy policy is

… One of the most important documents on any website. It details your company’s views and procedures on the information collected from visitors.

Although a privacy policy is technically a legal document, great effort should be made to craft a document that is both accurate and easy to understand, obscuring hidden clauses in reams of text is not acceptable.

Unless there’s a favor to call into a lawyer, most times we will just search the web for what looks like a good and acceptable policy, grab the text, adapt it to our church or company, and post it to our website to “comply.”

We want to make sure your website is in compliance, so here are 4 FREE options for avoiding the tragedy to just taking another’s website text and making it your own.
