For two weeks our family is retreating in Pendleton County, West Virginia in a cabin high atop the Allegheny mountains.
My dad’s parents were originally from here, and even retired here after having long careers in Richmond, VA. Having visited this area a lot throughout my life, I’ve always wanted to spend extended time in these parts because I believe it’s one of the most beautiful areas in the US.
The purpose of this trip is multi-facetted. It’s first and foremost a retreat for the entire family – a chance to strip back the hustle and bustle of life and spend time with God and each other. I’m also doing a little recon and meeting with a local church planter because I believe God wants to plant a church here and has tapped me to pull the resources together to make it happen.
It’s really hard to not be inspired by everything we’re stumbling across, and I hope to share a little bit of it with you guys.
Inspiration #1
Driving around the area yesterday, we realized we were just around the corner from Green Bank, WV, home of the Green Bank Telescope. It was worth the extra few minutes.
I hope you’ll find these colors helpful on your next project. Click on the image for a larger version.
